Holdfast is operated by 1Prov Technology. These terms are the agreement between us and the church using the service. We have tried to write them the way we would explain them out loud.
Not legal advice. These terms describe how we operate. They are not a substitute for your own counsel, and nothing here overrides rights you have under the law where your church is located.
The service is provided by 1Prov Technology, 4724 Woodland Dr, Lawrence, KS. In these terms “we” means 1Prov, and “you” means the church or organisation with an account.
You are responsible for who you invite and what roles you give them. An administrator can see giving records, member details, and billing — invite carefully, and remove people when they leave.
You must be authorised to act for the church you register. Do not use the service to impersonate a congregation you are not part of.
Everything you put into Holdfast — pages, photos, sermons, member records, giving history — remains yours. We claim no ownership. We store and display it so the service can work, and for no other purpose.
You can export your data at any time from the admin. If you leave, you keep it and you keep your domain.
Gifts to your church are charged directly on your own Stripe account. The money never enters a 1Prov balance, we take no percentage, and we are not a payment processor, escrow agent, or fiduciary for your congregation’s giving.
Your relationship for payments is with Stripe, under their terms. Disputes, chargebacks, refunds and payout timing are between you, your donor, and Stripe. We will help you understand what happened, but we cannot move money on your behalf.
You are responsible for issuing tax receipts and for the charitable status claims you make to your donors.
Do not use Holdfast to:
We work hard to keep the service up and we monitor it continuously, but we do not offer a contractual uptime guarantee at these prices. We will tell you honestly when something has broken rather than quietly hoping you did not notice.
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend an account that is being used unlawfully, or that has not paid after we have asked more than once — we will always email first.
After an account closes we keep your data for 30 days so a mistake can be undone, then delete it. Ask us and we will delete it sooner.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will email account administrators before it takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, United States.
